About the author
James Reynolds has spent more than two decades serving the local church through pastoral ministry, youth discipleship, and leadership development. Raised in a pastor’s home, James trusted Jesus Christ as his Savior at a young age and sensed God’s call to ministry early in life—a calling that would eventually lead him into the challenging and deeply rewarding world of youth ministry.
James is a graduate of Faith Baptist Bible College with a degree in Pastoral Theology and holds a Master’s Degree in Organizational Leadership from Clarks Summit University. His ministry journey includes serving as Associate Pastor at Nevada Baptist Church in Iowa for 17 years, followed by pastoral ministry in Grand Rapids, Michigan. In 2021, he became the Executive Director of Lincoln Lake Baptist Youth Camp, where he now leads a year-round ministry focused on gospel impact, discipleship, and developing leaders who serve the next generation.
Throughout his ministry, James has discipled and trained over 20 college students preparing for youth ministry and partnered with more than 70 volunteer youth workers. His youth groups have ranged in size from five students to nearly ninety, giving him firsthand experience shepherding ministries of every size and season. He writes not from theory, but from years of hands-on practice—learning, adapting, and trusting God through both success and failure.
James and his wife, Heather, were married in 1999 and have raised their children to love and serve Christ. Today, their adult children are active in their local churches, including their son Hunter, who serves as a youth pastor. Much of James’s writing is shaped by a desire to equip faithful leaders and to pass on hard-earned wisdom to those investing in the next generation.
